Newark-Granville Youth Symphony The Newark-Granville Youth Symphony, under the direction of Susan Larson, offers young musicians in Licking County the opportunity to learn and perform classical music in an advanced group with their peers. This experience has inspired many to go on to pursue college degrees in music, the majority of them with music scholarships. The NGYS was the only youth symphony to perform at the 2011 Capitol Music Festival at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. and has been invited to perform in Europe.
Newark-Granville Chamber Strings The Newark-Granville Chamber Strings, under the direction of Jordan Koogler, was created to help meet the needs of beginning and intermediate performers. This ensemble has truly taken off, building a foundation for the next generation of string musicians. String students in grades 6 - 9 are invited to audition for this ensemble.
